The DIGITAL ERA

Here is an iteresting way to look at this digital era of everyone and their mother having a digital camera! This was taken from an article by Reza Deghati, founder of Aina, published in  the Chicago Tribune .
"But are we the only ones doing this? No. Nowadays, everyone should take pictures. There was a time in history that there were only a small group of people who could read and write. It's still like that in many countries. But nowadays, in the important parts of the planet, everyone has a pen in the pocket, and can read and write. I think photography should become the same thing. In the same way, they should have a pen that takes pictures.

But having a pen in the pocket hasn't created Hemingways, or Faulkners. It's a tool everyone should have - but becoming a photographer does not mean taking pictures of sunsets, your families, and calling yourself a photographer ... being a photographer is like being a Hemingway, when everyone else knows how to write or use a pen. Totally different things."

The full article is quite interesting it's a Q&A on how Reza is making social change happen through photography and media.
